Fabio's 10th Birthday Cake Smash!

Yay! Our family dog and best friend has made it to his 10th birthday and what better way to celebrate this special occasion than a doggie cake smash and portrait session.

While we were already in studio, I decided to do a few more setups. I love this one because it looks like a painting. This is how I remember his face.

Happy Dog! You can't really tell he is sick here and that's how I want to remember him. Happy, playful, full of love. I'll always remember his strength and toughness when darting across the yard to jump to the top of a 6 foot fence in an attempt to catch a possum. (If you don't follow me on Facebook, you wouldn't know that he's been diagnosed with bone cancer. Since he doesn't have much time left, I wanted to do this shoot so that I'll never forget about the best dog I ever had.)

Photography has been such a blessing in my life and it's a tool I use in coping with the joys of life and it's heartbreak. I'm so thankful I'm able to capture these special memories. In the blink of an eye, it will all be over.

My magic power is a time machine, what's yours?!
