Five Reasons Why you Shouldn't Wait till Baby is Older to do a Newborn Session

Baby Chloe is 3 months old and has changed so much since her newborn session so what better time than to document her growth. She's learning to do tummy time and will be rolling over soon. She is such an easy baby to work with. Her newborn session was a dream but I will say that 3 month portraits for any baby is much more challenging than photographing a newborn. For one, she quadrupled her newborn weight and wouldn't fit into many props that I have. She's also much less flexible and not as easy to pose. Her sleeping portraits are posed in the way she is most comfortable and how she would sleep on her own. At this age, she is settling into her own sleep rhythm and is more easily startled and fussy which requires more soothing and rocking. Lastly, many shots can be awkward due to the fact there isn't a whole lot they can do at this age. Their neck muscles aren't quite as developed enough to do tummy time and most babies fuss through it. We never want baby to be uncomfortable. Vision is still developing and often times when awake will look cross-eyed. As always, only the images where baby looks her best are included in the final gallery.

4) Most babies at this age hate tummy time
