Happy first birthday sweet girl! What a special milestone I was honored to photograph. This shoot was so fun creating! Margo's mom and I put our heads together in styling a unique cake smash. We went to the craft store to pick out props and Margo's mama did a great job making all of the props. I didn't know she was so crafty. She even made the delicious cake. I love it when my clients are involved in the whole experience. It makes the moment more memorable and special.
Babies, pearls and tutu's=Adorable!
Margo's first taste of cake.
I love watching little one's explore new things for the very first time. I wonder what she's thinking.
Poor baby! So many emotions about the big day. Don't worry, she only cried for a second before mom scooped her up for a cuddle.
Mommy did such a wonderful job making all of the decorations. The cake was delicious too!
Can you believe it's time for kids to go back to school! This summer just flew by for me. I do love fall though! It's probably my favorite season. I love the colors, cooler weather, and football season. So, designing this set and it's warm colors was lots of fun! I can't wait to start setting up the fall/harvest decor. Look out for fall and halloween sessions.
Inspecting the apple. How close is to close! Haha!
I love it when my hubby plays the guitar for me!
This shot was taken in very low light, about 2:00 a.m. He was just fiddling around on the guitar and reading tabs on his iPhone completely immersed in what he was doing. I liked the way the lamp and the bluish tones from the TV were hitting his face so I grabbed my camera, asked for a "hey, look at me real quick," and that was that. There's lots of noise but I'm loving the grainy look in this image.
Wow! She has grown so much again! It's so bittersweet to watch her mature and develop. It's sad that she's not a baby anymore but then it's so lovely to watch her grow into a little girl. This session was very pleasant for me and fun for her. When she was younger it was incredibly difficult to get her to sit still for even a second to get a shot of her. Most pictures I had of her were "lifestyle" shots of her playing outside where she could run wild and free. I love that we both had fun!
Here she is reading Pinocchio and Geppetto, a book from my childhood.
That sweet smile melts my heart!
This next shot is awkward yet cute to me. She wants to show me her doll but is skeptical that I might take it away. I told her to be very careful with it since it's a fragile Madame Alexander doll. Oh, 2 year olds! Everything is "MINE" right now.
I love all of the little faces she makes and her idiosyncrasies. I'm one proud mommy!
This shot was taken at Memory Lane Photo Spot in Mission, Texas. It's an adorable home that has been there for 100 years. It's great a place for a family photo session. Here's a link to their website and facebook page so you can see more images of the home and property.
